I read a newspaper article about Emily and bought one of her Christmas ornaments. Sorry for your loss.

I never met Emily but I have cared for others with Rhett's Syndrome. It is a devastating diagnosis, but clearly her family and she rose above the diagnosis to live an enriched and full life not only for her but for the benefit of so many others. My heart goes out to you in your loss. I cannot tell you how touched I am for your perseverance and overcoming of obstacles. May beautiful memories and the knowledge that you have touched and inspired others comfort you at this most difficult time.

Emily has helped so many students over the years understand Rett Syndrome and advocate for research and solutions. By continuing to share her story and journey, Em will continue to educate many more at the College of Medicine. Our deepest sympathy for the family as they journey through this grief.
