I am so honored to have known Emily as one of my closest friends. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. I know her spirit lives on in those who knew her. Rest in peace to a beautiful angel, and may I find many double rainbows in your memory.

I did not know Emily, and I am not a hiker. When I heard about this tragedy, I prayed for her, and her family. I was heartbroken at the sad outcome. My deepest condolences to Emily's family and friends. Fly high sweet Emily!

As a NH native and college student who also loves to hike in the Whites, Emily's story hit especially close to home for me. It is clear that she was a courageous, smart, ambitious, adventurous, kind young woman, and I'm sad I never got the chance to know her. I think we would've been good friends. My heart breaks for her family, and I will think of her always when hiking in the Whites.
