Emily Wilson Tynes died on April 12, 2024. She was 84. Smart, good-natured, and always genuine, Mimi was beloved. Not sure what to say?

I was just made aware of Mimi´s death (have been ill ) &, along with all her friends, family and fans, think we & this city we´re especially blessed to have had Mimi in our lives! Louise Gale

Mimi was my YLF of Birmingham executive director, mentor, and friend. She expressed so much interest in each of us and our paths. I appreciate her devotion and passion for young people. She possessed such intelligence and intellectual curiosity, yet made all around feel important and heard. She will be sorely missed.

Mimi was one of my childhood best friends Aunt, Keyser! But she was more than that, a woman I always looked up to. All will cherish their many beautiful memories of Mimi (and Bill Tynes). The warmth of her smile, her sincere greeting and especially her laughter will forever remind us of how fortunate we all were to have known her. Such JOY for everything in life!

To all the members of the Wilson and Tynes families I offer my joy of knowing Mimi for quite some time. My late wife, Wendy Wilson Dabney, was Mimi´s sister-in- law but I remember her from The Advent, where I was a cradle member. Richard Dabney Chapel Hill, NC

May Her Memory Be Eternal. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Tynes and Wilson families.

So very sorry for your loss. She will be greatly missed.

Another soul in heaven...well done my good and faithful servant. Praying for all the fam"ily during this time and in the future. "OUR SOULS are like the Stars....They are INFINITE AND EVERLASTING...THEY go On and On and On and On."The Rev.F.M.Dick.

Mimi was truly one of a kind and never met a stranger. I knew her from the time I came to Bham in the 1970's and she ALWAYS made everyone feel special. I know you ALL will miss her terribly. Fondly, Mary Bashinsky
