Not sure what to say?

I first met Emma and Lee Adler in 1982 while I was working at the Ford Foundation. Both brought Savanna to the interest of the Foundation. As a result the Foundation made several grantS for the revitalization without displacement for the Black neighborhoods. I will miss their generosity, commitment to social justice. What a blessing Emma was to all who knew her and to the many more who benefited from her countless good works. It was a privilege to honor Emma in SCAD’s Savannah Women of Vision investiture in recognition of her extraordinary achievements and in awe of her selfless dedication to advancing the important work of preservation. The longtime support she and Lee offered to the university continues to advance the education of many students, including those in preservation design – a cause very dear...

Emma Morel Alder was truly a woman of distinction.

I have never met anyone who cared more for her city and community than did Emma. She worked tirelessly for preservation and heritage education, frequently letting others get the credit. She and her husband Lee are substantially responsible for Savannah's renaissance and its sense of place Surely her passing represents the end of an era, one of gentility, hospitality and kindness

Savannah is a living witness Emmas passion and devotion and vision. Many condolences to the family. RiP Emma. Love, the Keenas

Emma was a wonderful civic leader and supporter of education. Georgia Humanities is grateful for her service as Board Chair and supporter over the years. When I think of history and Savannah, I always smile and remember Emma.
