Mrs. Emma Lee Bush Jones, a native of Malcolm, Alabama and a longtime resident of Prichard, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Mrs. Jones was born August 24, 1914 to Mr. Charlie Bush and Mrs. Mary Ann Bush Brown. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Freeman Jones, Sr.; parents, Mr. Charlie Bush and Mrs. Mary Ann Bush Brown; two daughters, Ms. Barbara Jones and Mrs. Ethel Porter; two brothers, Mr. Charlie Bush, Jr., and Mr. Walter Bush, Jr.; and three sisters Mrs. Mable Slaughter, Mrs. Annie Pearl White and Mrs. Ruth Orso. Mrs. Jones was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Freeman Jones, Sr. To this union nine children were born. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Prichard, Alabama, where Reverend Sylvester Adams serves as Pastor. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Eunita Star Chapter No. 432 of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, homemaker and talented seamstress. Her quiet compassionate and humble spirit made her loved by all who knew her. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Freeman (Mada) Jones, Jr., West Lake Village, California; Mr. James (Kim) Jones, Mobile, Alabama and Mr. Eric Jones, Prichard, Alabama; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Monroe, Portsmouth, Virginia; Mrs. Alice (Willie)Starks, Pacoima, California; Dr. Doris Archibald and Mrs. Emma Jean (Marvin) Robinson, Mobile, Alabama; eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, one devoted sister Mrs. Dora (Prentice) Johnson, Mobile, Alabama and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 8:00am until the 10:00am funeral service at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 210 West Clark Avenue, Prichard, Alabama.
