The fulfilled life of Emmitt Linnell (Tweety) Kasey came to a standstill by crossing the earthly highway on the Lord's Day, Thursday, April 8, 2010. With outstretched hands, God guided him to his heavenly home. He embarked upon this horizon on June 12, 1938 in Hardy, Virginia (Franklin County). Linnell was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, retired from Norfolk & Southern Railway, a member of the Sheiks Athletic Club and a 1956 graduate of Lucy Addison High School. He was predeceased in demise by his parents, Emmitt Morgan Kasey and Evelyn Kasey Croan; sister, Gloriarnetta Kasey; brother, Lloyd Kasey and grandson, Maurice Plummer, ll. Precious memories will forever be treasured by his wife, Dorothy H. Kasey; son, Rev. Linnell M. "Puff" (Lecretia) Kasey; daughters, Rena` (Maurice) Plummer, Tenita (Jason) StClair and Asia Osby; grandchildren, Brittany Brooks, Arissa Kasey, Dashaun Kasey, Mauricia Plummer, Maxwell Plummer, Tahriana Kasey, Emmitt Tavon Kasey, Tawyon "Buddy" Kasey, Taylor Kasey and Sasha King; lovable great-grandchildren; sisters, Greta (John) Lewis, Florine Wilson, Geraldine Reid and Wanda (Gene) Williams; brothers, Sherwood Ray (Lawton) Kasey and Norris (Wanda) Kasey; stepsister, Loretta Otey; stepbrother, James (Lois) Croan; aunts, Gladiola (Charlie) Phelps, Vashti Hunter, Eree Kasey, Daisy Kasey and Gladys Webb; uncles, James (Linda) Swain, Giles Swain and Jimmy Lee Swain; like-dear-children, Antawyon Martin, Sadie (William) Mitchell, Shirley (William) Bentley, Diane (Harvey) Cardwell, Sherman (Lola) Wilson, Timothy "Tiny" Hancock, Eldridge "Bug" Wilson, Eric Saunders, Andrew Robinson, Jerome "Russ" Bonds, Brenda M. Stores, Evangelist Mary A. Gill, Josie Hairston, Rasheeda Mitchell, Heather Gunn, Darlene Reeves, Marquetta Wilson and Rochelle Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, others relatives, Pilgrim Baptist Church Family and many faithful friends. A Service of Celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, 12 noon at Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight O. Steele, officiating and Rev. Linnell M. Kasey as eulogist. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family and friends visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Pilgrim Baptist Church from 7 to 8 p.m. Friends may call at Serenity Tuesday from 12 noon until 5 p.m. for viewing.
