Engel Corstange

After my late father, no one taught me more about life and doing the right thing than Mr. Corstange. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

During my years at PCHS I always looked forward to seeing Mr. C in the hall and I'd be prepared for what he would say! One day I told him to quit acting like a meanie because we all knew he was just a big teddy bear. He just laughed and laughed! Even after I graduated I'd run into him once in awhile and he always started "harrassing" me just like the old days! I'd just hug him and tell him hes a gentle bear! I loved his laugh. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

I am so sorry I missed the funeral for Mr. Corstange. I can't even begin to explain what he meant to me and my career, he was not a good man, he was a great man. He was a mentor and a friend and he will be missed, I look forward to seeing him again someday. God bless the family, he made am impact and that will never be forgotten.

I like to say that Mr. Corstange was one of my favorite teachers and he encouraged me to continue with the dream in drafting; if it wasn't for his encouragment I don't think I would have accomplished as much as I have in my career. I wish there were more educators like Mr. Corstange.

A great Mayor & a good friend

We have so many fun and wonderful memories of Engel & Annetta as we all enjoyed being Portage Central Mustangs....what a unique group we were, and Engel made our gatherings such fun for all of us. Fond memories and we are glad we have them.... He will be missed by so many people.

I was fortunate to have Engel as a teacher all 3 years in high school, he was passionate in his work and his smile and laugh made you feel good . He loved the city of Portage and served her well with pride.We shared a mutual love of country maid bakery wedgies , and my senior year we shared many together in my co-op classroom. A warm, kind human being and friend.

Engel was a dear friend and co-worker, man of honor and principles! Loved the twinkle in his eye and amused chuckle. We are sad to hear of his passing, but delighted to know that he is celebrating with the Lord in Heaven! May God bless his terrific family and help them find comfort in special memories.
