Not sure what to say?

I have been thinking about Enid a lot lately. I was her companion for the last couple years of her life. We visited weekly and I often took her out on errands or to get her hair done. She was such a a special person and I loved my visits with her. I miss her so much. Thoughts to her family, She loved them so much and was very proud of her children and grand children.

I worked with Enid when she was a graduate student at the University of Michigan and later as a colleague. She was a truly open-hearted person with a nuanced awareness of the needs of others and a bottomless patience. She may have been quiet-spoken, but I was always struck by her measured perceptions and psychological insight.

We are so sorry to hear of Enid's passing. My husband met Enid when she took a class he was teaching as a doctoral student at U of M while she was earning her Master's. I met Enid later on in 1984 when my husband took a faculty position at U of M. Enid graciously allowed us to send our belongings from CA to MI to be stored at her house until we found an apartment. After we moved to Texas, we stayed in touch by email and holiday cards. We also visited Ann Arbor a few times and made sure...

Enid and I met years ago as colleagues in the University of Michigan Comprehensive Studies Program. Our shared commitment to ensuring academic success for our diverse community of students led to the formation of an enduring friendship. I so admired her intelligent, beautifully expressed contributions in faculty meetings and found that these qualities extended to her life in general. Everything about her was beautiful, artful, thoughtful. Enid will be remembered with admiration and love and...

I worked with Mrs. Zimmerman at the University of Michigan and enjoyed many conversations and times just being in her presence. She cared so much for her family, her colleagues and her students. What a wonderful soul she has and I am saddened to know that she will no longer be among us, but so grateful that she holds a dear place in my memories. I condole with her family and will say prayers for you as you navigate this time.

I was so saddened to hear about Enid´s passing. I wish I would´ve gotten to see her one last time. I had been doing her hair for the past 10+ yrs and cherished our visits. She was beautiful inside and out. She was a special woman for sure. She had a way of always making me feel like the special one. One of the kindest, most thoughtful people I´ve ever known. We shared stories about our families, of which it was obvious how proud she was of hers, and how much love she had for each of them. I...

I am so sorry to read about Enid's passing. We were friends through work, and would meet for coffee and fun conversations fairly often before the pandemic. I had been thinking about her lately, so was shocked to see this notice. A wonderful woman. Sharon Pisoni

I got the wonderful pleasure of getting to know Enid through my job as a resident care assistant over the last year. Enid would often have a big smile on her face when I saw her. We would often shared lots of laughs. I am so grateful I got to know such a beautiful lady.

I worked with Enid for many years at the Comprehensive Studies Program at the University of Michigan. She was the most compassionate, consistent, and caring teacher I ever met. Her special gift was to improve the writing of everyone! She lived helping students find their voices. She was a cherished colleague and great friend. Her light continues to impact my love. The family has my love, prayers, and deepest condolences. Dr.Dwight Fontenot
