Colonial Funeral Homes - Brick Obituary

Enrique M. Vasquez, 57 of Brick passed away Monday April 4, 2022 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born in Queens, NY and lived in Cary, Illinois before moving to Brick in December 2019.
Enrique was the President, Owner and Area Developer of CareBuilders at Home of Illinois. Prior to this, he was an accomplished wealth management senior executive at Blucora, Cetera, and GE Capital. He was an active member in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Gold Chicago Chapter. He also served on the Morningstar Mutual Fund Trust board of trustees and previously served on the Advisory Board for Schwab
Advisor Services, Year Up Chicago, as well as a Trustee of the Illinois Teacher's Retirement System.

Enrique loved to travel, ski, play guitar, draw and spend time outdoors. His most treasured moments were spending time with family and friends. Enrique lived by the quote “Everything that happens to me is the best thing that can happen to me!” This positive outlook on life, helped him through his long battle against pancreatic cancer.

Surviving is his wife Michelle Gadomski Vasquez, his two daughters Angelica and Alessandra Vasquez, his sister and brother-in-law Fresia and Peter Skoczypec, and his two nieces Fresia Bianco and Carmela Skoczypec.

A Celebration of Enrique’s life will be held in the Summer of 2022. More information to come in the upcoming weeks.
Colonial Funeral Home, Brick is in charge of arrangements.

Not sure what to say?

I had talked to Enrique every few years and just saw this terrible news. We worked together for many years at Genworth and I want to extend my deepest sympathies to his family. Enrique was a friend and a positive influence on my life. I appreciated his effort to reach out to me so many times after we no longer worked together. He was a beautiful person and will be missed. Sending love and peace to his family

I can't tell you how devastated I am and know this it is only a small fraction of the pain and heartache that you and your family are going through. I have a number of trustees as clients and like them all but I loved Enrique. He was so smart, dynamic, thoughtful and kind. I always loved talking and being with him and will miss him dearly. I said to him a number of times if he needs anything or I can be helpful in any way (even just to talk) to let me know and that offer remains for you...

I am very sorry to hear about Rick. He was such a good friend to so many and had a knack for making people happy. I will never forget his addictive laugh, silliness and seriousness as well. Much love and peace to you and the girls.

Scott and I are so sorry to hear about Rick. I can't imagine how difficult the last year must have been for you and the girls. Think of you often and if you ever need anything, please don't hesitate..would love to hear from you. Long road ahead but you have great girls and you will see each other through.

I just wanted to let you know how much I am thinking of you and the girls. I will miss Rick and our conversations. I loved having Rick as a friend and will miss him dearly. I wish there were words that could ease the pain of your loss. Please know we are praying for your family. We are here for you.
