To Eric's friends and family... Eric and I became close over the years in the pharmaceutical industry exchanging stories about our families. I felt like I knew his family and friends at home even though I never met them. We would meet at conferences and meetings for dinner or drinks having lots of common interest...including sports/hockey, kids of similar ages, etc. Eric truly was a close friend ...the kind friend that if we did not talk for months would immediately pick up where we left...

Cathy, I am so sorry for your loss. Eric and I had worked together at Squibb and interacted when I had left Genentech and he began his tenure there. We had dinner and several meetings together. He was a great guy and we enjoyed sharing stories about our kids and families. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!

Truly a heavy blow has been dealt

I worked with Eric at Genentech for many years. Eric was extremely transparent, always offering help as well as insights that made me be a better specialist. On a personal note Eric was engaging and fun to be around, lots go good laughs. I will miss him.
