Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Eric Brown,48,after a brief illness, on August 30, 2024.

Eric was born on December 6, 1975, in Las Cruces, NM. Eric was extremely proud to have been a valued employee of the Wal-Mart on Valley Drive in Las Cruces, NM for over 15 years. Eric never knew a stranger as he was always willing to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. His well-dressed sense of style, his affable nature, and his award-winning smile made him a favorite to those he encountered. Eric was known for his friendly greetings such as “Hello. I’m Eric. Where you work?” He was an active member of his church. He also loved to sing and play the guitar with his church friends. His faith in God was strong and he is now resting in His peace. He lived with his mother who took care of him all his life. He will be solely missed.

Eric leaves behind his mother, Zulema; his father, Donnie; younger brother, Israel; stepbrother, Greg “Big Guy”; sister-in-law, Laura; two nieces; a nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A viewing for Eric will be at 9am on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels, 300 East Boutz Road, with a Funeral Service to follow at 10am. Burial will be held afterwards at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 West Picacho Ave. A reception will be held at Peace Lutheran Church at 1701 Missouri Ave.

The family would like to thank all his friends, people who worked with him over the years, and those who were important to him.
