With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eric Steven Danson, 32, of Good Springs, Texas, on Thursday, November 21st, 2024. Eric’s life, though far too short, was a testament to the joy, love, and laughter he brought to everyone around him.
Born on April 27, 1992, to Robert and Linda Danson, Eric was a vibrant and ambitious young man who filled his days with adventure. As a child, he could often be found racing through the neighborhood on his bike, laughing with friends, and staying out until the streetlights called him home. His boundless energy and competitive spirit shone brightly in his passion for sports, excelling in everything from baseball to mixed martial arts.
Eric had a gift for laughter. Whether he was leaving prank messages in silly voices, cracking a joke, or chasing his brother and cousins as the “monster” in countless basement adventures, he had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into cherished memories. Yet beyond the humor, he was deeply thoughtful—a kind soul who always ensured everyone felt included, loved, and seen.
In his adult years, Eric found solace in the quiet beauty of East Texas, where he lived surrounded by the things that brought him the most peace: his beloved dogs and the open land.
Eric’s love for his family and friends was unwavering. He is survived by his father Robert (Sandy) Danson of Beach Park, IL, his mother Linda Danson of Palestine, TX, and his brother Tyler (Randy) Danson of Houston, TX.
He joins in heaven his grandparents, lovingly remembered as Grams, Papa, Memaw, and Pawpaw; his Uncle John, who affectionately called him “Opossum Head”; Aunt Jeanie, who shared his love for laughter and adventure; and his best friend Brian Nowakowski. And of course, he is reunited with his angel fur babies—Hunter, Truper, and Layla—who surely greeted him with wagging tails and endless kisses at the Rainbow Bridge.
Eric’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but we take comfort in knowing he is surrounded by love and light, embraced by family, friends, and his cherished pets. His warmth, humor, and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to an animal rescue organization, in honor of Eric’s enduring love for his dogs.Private memorial service for family & friends will be held later.
