Eric Pharr Etheridge

I am so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I only found out today when I mentioned his name reminiscing with another Tektronix colleague. I remember Eric so well. A very smart guy and one of the few honored by winning the Howard Vollum award, awarded to the best young engineer at Tek each year. Somehow I was vaguely thinking Eric went to the midwest after leaving Tek as I believe I had a phone call with him. I find one email exchange from his Cal Tech alumni email account in 2010.

Eric would take on a mountainous task and amaze everyone 3 weeks later with a solution. I wouldn't know how half the solutions he designed worked, even though I used them all the time. He was also very kind and willing to share his knowledge. We will all really miss him. I am really sorry for your loss.

Eric was one of my favorite people in my 30+ years at Tektronix. His sense of humor was a welcome relief in a sometimes stressful, fast paced job.

Eric and I used to chat at the intersection between our groups, outside the bldg. 39 2nd floor break room. Eric was known for expertise in deep, technical matters. I had the good fortune to share many a chuckle with his lighthearted side. Such a simple moment would brighten my day, and I hope his.

I knew Eric for years at Tektronix. Eric was highly respected and liked in his career at Tek. Eric was a great guy... Wil Mercer
