Eric M. Griffing

NEW HAVEN: Eric M. Griffing, age 36, entered into the loving arms of our Lord on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

     Eric was born in Derby on July 14, 1983, beloved son of Kim Leggio Mordowanec of Seymour and August “Mike” Griffing of Ansonia. He attended Derby schools and was a lover of art and was an artist himself. Eric was a “jack of all trades”, hard worker and enjoyed drawing, music, tattooing, the beach, animals, hanging out with friends and spending time with his family, especially his daughter and best friend, his brother. He touched many lives and will truly be missed by all that knew him. The battle is over, your free now, fly in everlasting peace!

     In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Angel Lina Griffing of Ansonia, a brother, Larry C. Griffing (Monica) of Prospect, maternal grandparents, Lawrence Leggio Jr. and Caroline Murphy Leggio of Oxford, a nephew, Grayson A. Griffing, a niece, Autumn B. Griffing and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles H. Griffing Jr. and Regina Kozlowski Griffing.

     Due to the Covid-19 Virus, all services will be private. There will be a public memorial at a later date that will be announced for all to join the family to celebrate Eric’s life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an education fund designated for Eric’s daughter, Angel Lina, through his brother, Larry Griffing.
