Not sure what to say?

I NEW ERIC FOR ONLY THREE DAYS OF HIS LIFE. MY FIRST AND ONLY MEMORIES OF ERIC ARE HOW I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM. HE CALLED ME FROM THE DALLAS HOSPITAL WHERE MY FATHER, GEORGE LAY DYING FROM A HEAD INJURY. AS HE BROKE THE NEWS TO ME HE WAS VERY SYMPATHETIC, KIND AND COMPASSIONATE. ERIC TALKED WITH ME FOR SOME TIME TRYING TO CONSOLE ME UNTIL THE ORDEAL WAS FINALLY OVER. AFTER THE CALL I THOUGHT TO MYSELF "WHAT A FINE YOUNG MAN. AN EXPERIENCED CLERGYMAN COULD NOT HAVE DONE A FINER JOB." I...

My memories of Eric are that of a happy kid and being just a bit shy, but that was his style. I wish I would have seen him onboard the Constellation during my time in the USN--we would've had a good time I'm sure. The nation appreciates his service and I extend my good memories of him.

As mere mortals we do not know why we must experience the loss of someone who is so young. We must accept that it is truly God's will to take him and send him on a new adventure. May all who knew him cherish the fond memories of his life with us. May God watch carefully over his children.

Barbara Lake (extended relative of the Burnett family)

What a wonderful feeling to read all the special things that people have remembered and shared about Eric. Our loss is deep and to have the warm memories will get us through this difficult time.

Pat Krov (Eric's Aunt, Susan's sister)

Our deepest sympathy to Eric's entire family.

I must say we felt like part of his family as well. Eric was one of kind. Our door was always open to him and his family. He always had a pep in his step. I can personally tell you more than once he had the ability to bring a smile to my face when I was at my lowest. Non-judgemental and there to help you out if needed. Always ready to take on the day and talk about something! My children thought the world of him. His kindness...

Buzzy, I'm extremely sorry for your loss. I realize that its not just your loss, its "our" lost too. I remember when we used to play football at grannymother's at Thanksgiving and Christmas and I can only see him as I remember him, as a little boy. He was always smiling and laughing and he was always trying his best to get us. I never really knew him as an adult, just as my little cousin. I like that memory, because I will always see him smiling. Our and Eric's extended family will be...

It is so heart warming to read these loving messages about Eric. I am sorry I was not able to attend but affirm my deep, enduring love for this sweet grandson and my understanding sympathies for all members of his extended family.

Dear Alan, Angela and Eric's Family;
We are grieved about Eric's sudden death and our prayers are with you.
