Lewis Funeral Home - Marshall Obituary

Eric Dewayne Hall was born on May 2, 1980, in Marshall, Texas to parents Vanessa and Elvis Hall. He grew up in what we refer to as the Sunny South. Eric graduated from Marshall High School and went on to later work at Railworks and KBR as a track switch operator. He was a member of New Growth Missionary Baptist Church. He loved taking trips with the church and spending time with his family, which includes his younger sister and best friend, Tamika.

Eric was quiet, friendly, and loved a good laugh. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan; he loved cars and trucks, and he especially enjoyed his grandmother's home cooking. Carrying on his memory are his daughter Eriyanah, his daughter's mom and special friend Annette Jones, his mother Vanessa, his sister Tamika Hall, grandparents Eddie V. and Roy Jones and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

He passed away on Friday, September 17th in Longview, Texas after a difficult battle with diabetes. Although he was still a young man, he has left his family with so many happy memories. His spirit lives on the times we shared with him and in the person of his beautiful little girl.

In Memory of a Wonderful Brother

I hold onto our memories

The ones that are so dear

To try to keep you always close

Now you are not here

You were called, it was your time

But it is so true

You have left a legacy

There was no one like you

You are not here today

But I will never forget you

And I know I have been blessed

To have you for my Brother

Because you were the Best...

Missing (A Poem)

Eric, I called you the other day to see how you were doing and tell you about my day. You didn't answer!

We left you a voice message telling you that we miss you and that I'm going to take good care of Eriyanah. You didn't call us back!

I wrote you a letter telling you all the things I wish I'd had a chance to say but wasn't given the opportunity. I don't know where to send it!

Eric, the thought of not being able to hear, see or touch you again never crossed my mind for a minute, yet, here we are!

Now I'm praying and asking God to forward all our messages to you. God, please let Eric know that I Love and Miss him so much. Also, ask him to watch over our daughter. I don't have the strength to say "Goodbye", so I'll see you later My Love!

Always and Forever,

Annette
