Not sure what to say?

Eric was a very sincere person with a big heart of gold. Everything about him i remember will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences goes out to his family. I will never forget the friday nights watching the big lebowski with eric and dan devier. Great times. Can't wait to see you again good friend.

Eric, or how I knew him "Bear" was my best friend when I first met him in elementary school. He was my neighbor and someone who I loved dearly. Bear and I spent many a Friday nights collecting spare change so we could afford to play pool at the local bowling alley, drank pots of coffee at his parent's house, and enjoyed taking his beastly F-150 stick shift to school so we wouldn't have to take the school bus to school. I am a better man having just known him. My prayers go out to his family.

I have recently found out about Bear's unfortunate passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. He was a great guy. I will always remember his love of bite size pretzels and root beer in high school.

I just heard about Bear today. I am saddened by his passing. He was one of my best friends in high school and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I just got word that Bear passed today from a mutual freind. We were good freinds at UTI and even roommates for a while. This comes to a great shock to me, because I was just trying to locate him. I would like to express my regards and sympathy to all freinds and family of his. Bear you will be greatly missed!

I just heard about Bear's passing today. Karl called my house out here in Chicago and I was very sad to hear about his death. We were really great friends and dated for a little bit while he was going to school at UTI. He had so many great friends out here that loved him. He was such a wonderful man, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I knew bear though Ian and Dan. He was a nice guy. I remeber one time at Dans house the weather channel song can on and he was making fun of it. He will be deeply missed. I am very sad to hear of his dealth. I wish I could be at his service on saturday but I live to far away.

Eric was a wonderful guy, may you remember the good times, his smile, his laugh, and everything in between. He was a very likable person with tons of friends all over the world, a person you only meet once and know he'll be your friend forever. My prayers are with you
Love, Adrienne Burtner and Family

I'm sorry for your loss. However, and this is out of the blue, but I am originally from Valencia/Renfrew - Knoch High School (like Eric was from Elizabeth), and I also moved to Harrisburg in 1990 (like Eric must have done as some point). I was looking at Steeler victory stuff on post-gazette.com, and figured I'd look at a couple obits. I never knew Eric, but I kind of probably know his experience (moving from western PA to Harriburg). I subsequently moved to the flatlands of the midwest,...
