Eric David Lay

Eric David Lay, 47, of 309 Plantation Lane, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007. Born March 6, 1960, in Sacramento, CA, he was the son of Bruce Jerry Lay of Groveland, CA, and the late Patricia Moore Lay. He was a carpenter and painter by trade and was currently employed with Closets by Design, LLC, of Spartanburg. He was a person of great intellect and a gentle spirit who loved nothing more than spending time with his friends and his beloved wife. He never met a stranger, loved sports, enjoyed golf immensely, and was a talented ballroom dancer. He was always there to help a friend in need and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Surviving in addition to his father is his wife, Fran Lay; a brother, Kevin Lay of Cameron Park, CA; two sisters, Nadine Napier of West Virginia, and Judy Wright of Woodland, CA; and a large number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Floyd�s Greenlawn Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Upstate, P. O. Box 2794, Spartanburg, SC 29304; or to the Spartanburg Children Shelter, P. O. Box 2663, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home.
