Eric Ortega, 34, of Perryton, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022. A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Booker, Texas with Father Cesar Gomez officiating. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery, Perryton, Texas. Visitation will be on Wednesday (3/2/22) 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Thursday (3/3/22) 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Eric was born on June 11, 1987 to Efren and Carmen (Barrera) Ortega Sr. in Shattuck, Oklahoma. He worked in the oilfield for several years.
Eric is survived by his parents, Efren and Carmen Ortega, Sr. of Perryton, Tx; daughters, Alexia Marie Ortega of Perryton, Tx and Natalie Ortega of Carlsbad, NM; brothers, Efren Jr. and Randi Ortega and their children, Christian Ortega and Derek Manross all of Perryton, Tx, Adrian Ortega and his children, Yesenia, Mariah, Evelyn and Gabriel Ortega of Amarillo, Tx, Jorge and Jennifer Ortega and their children, Meagan Flores, Diego Valenzuela, Tisyn Ortega, Bella Valenzuela and Estevan Valenzuela all of Amarillo.

Eric was and will always be a very magnificent man. He had great manners, morals, strong upbringing that made him into the perfect man. He was definitely husband material. He is greatly missed by me and so many others. There wasn't anyone he couldn't make friends with. He really did light up a room!! My love for Eric will never diminish.
My thoughts and prayers are with his parents, and siblings, and of course his friends and family mourning him now. It's heartbreaking and I hope...
