Dear Janet,

Both Ellie and I were saddened to hear of Eric's passing. We want to pass on our condolences to you and all of your family.

Eric will be missed, not only by the Standard Insurance family, but by everyone who interacted with him during his career.My personal relationship started with Eric in 1974. He was one of the most talented, likeable, effective and respected individuals in our business.

I am saddened to learn of the loss of Eric and express my condolences to his family.
The community has lost a leading light and his personal contributions to so many of our civic activists will be sorely missed. His calm, and thoughtful approach to all matters made him an asset to us all. He was open and available and balanced in his views. Thanks you Eric and thank you to his family for sharing him with us

Kathy and I send our love and warm feelings for all of you. We have wonderful memories of time with Eric and Janet in the desert and on the Island.

Ironically it is the San Juan Island Community Foundation that brought we Oregonians together for some enjoyable work and play. The SJICF Board is very sad right now, but it is so grateful for Eric's gentle and effective leadership as our chair.
