Eric Pickens

Mr. Thomas Eric Pickens, 26, passed away Monday evening, April 25, 2005, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Montgomery, West Virginia, he had lived Pierce County most of his life. He was a 1998 graduate of Pierce County High School where he had been a star football player. He had worked for Fleetwood in Alma and later with Sweat Enterprises Construction until being diagnosed with cancer. He attended Ward Memorial United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Ann Pickens.

Survivors are his wife, April Bowers Pickens of Blackshear; a daughter, Ashlyn Pickens of Blackshear; a son, Thomas Pickens, Jr. of Blackshear; his parents, Bill & Lois Pickens, Jr. of Blackshear; a sister and brother-n-law, Marie & David Thigpen of Blackshear; two brothers, David Pickens and Billy Pickens both of Blackshear; his paternal grandmother, Betty Pickens of Ireland, WV and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Pickens will be held Thursday morning, April 28, 2005, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel

Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Pickens will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 pm at the funeral home.
