Not sure what to say?

What a beautiful, funny human being. I knew Eric from Smorgasburg for the past several years. He will be missed there.

-Elisa Dorn

Eric was one of the great local innovators. A pioneer in diversification and really understanding what it took to make a local farm successful financially. His energy and personality was amazing. Always smiling, happy, joyous. He is an inspiration to all local farmers and producers, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Eli / Katy / Nina and the entire Healthy Living family.

A beautiful life, well lived. God be with you all, as you live into this new reality without him.

Keenan and Hans I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and here for any support you may need.

So saddened to learn of his untimely death. I first met Eric when he was working on the Essex Ferry and growing artichokes at the Intervale. My wife and I were running a bed and breakfast in Essex, NY and had a 1 acre organic garden. I later became director of a federal agency providing guaranteed loans to farmers. I encouraged Eric and Julie to apply for a loan for the Cota farm in Starksboro. The loan people at FSA had never guaranteed a loan for vegetables. I told them I would never...

A beautiful life lived so well by one of the most caring men I've ever known - a well written obituary that makes you feel the joy that Eric lived with each and every day - this loss is a tremendous loss to his family - may his spirit stay with you each and every day and you feel him in the air around you - my great love also to my sister Mary Jane and brother in law Jan who had the awesome pleasure to say - Eric is our son

I am so upset to learn of Eric's dying. I can't understand why. Such a tragedy. Great person, great family, and positive universal energy. He does leave a beautiful legacy. I hadn't seen Eric for many years but was fortunate enough to see him last summer at the Burlington Farmers Market. He remembered me and wanted to give me the vegetables I needed. I told him I could pay for them, but when I pulled out my food stamp coins he kindly insisted I take them from him. So sweet a person....

R.I.P

I met Eric at Champlain Valley Crossfit a couple of years ago and we became instant friends. He was so full of life and always made everyone laugh out loud. The gym is not the same without him. All the members keep talking about what a great guy he was and they are spot on with that.
