Not sure what to say?

To Eric's family,
I was Eric's patient for 10 years, and I've never known a more compassionate and wonderful doctor. Nothing was too small; he had a way of dignifying every complaint. He even comforted me through a bout of depression...he knew I was feeling embarassed by it, and he told me it was something that often happened as women went through menopause. I'm so sorry for what he had to go through, and I wish you all the peace and comfort that time will bring.

Dear Judy, Alex, Ilana, and David:

Husband,Dad, our doctor, Mommy's doctor, and a friend!
The mourner's prayer is a tribute to a great life, a great mentor, and a caring human being.
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Eric, Dad.
He will not be forgotten by this family, and we are sure, many more families, whose lives were touched.
Alex, we, and Dad are so proud of your graduation.Remenber. whenever you feel a cool breeze, or see a twinkle in the star, That is Dad...

It seems about little more than a few months ago that I was in the Ferndale office and Lynn told me that Dr. Shapiro was at home but keeping track of his patients and wanted to be sure that I monitored my cholesterol. How I miss him! I had known him when I worked at CGH and then grew to trust him and depend upon him as "my doctor". My tears and prayers are with you all. We often talked of his children. His love for you all was obvious in our conversations.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dear Family and Friends,
I was fortunate to work with Dr. Shapiro for almost 25 years as an ER nurse and in the Health Center. He was an excellent physician and really cared about his patients. He taught me a lot and will be missed by all of us. My prayers are with you.

Dear Shapiro Family,
I had the great privilege of working with Dr. Shapiro in the O.R. for the brief time I was up there. Even after I left he tried to encourage me to leave the pharmacy and come back. He was always very polite to me with always a kind word to say. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Please know he will be missed by all and always thought of.

Dear Judith & Family,

I am truly sorry for your loss. I went to summer camp on Cape Cod with Ricky and his younger brother Ray with whom I have kept in touch over the years.

Ricky in his teens was always mature beyond his years. He commanded respect among those a few years his junior, and was very approachable. He was quick to dispense advise which, most of the time, was on the mark. I am not surprised he highly regarded family in adulthood, because even though he was only...

My prayers are with the family, he will be missed and I only had the highest praise for him as a doctor.

Dear Judy & Family,
Our deepest sympathy to you all. We're honored to have known such a great man & dedicated physician. He will be sadly missed, but, always fondly remembered.
Sincerely,
Carlene M. Pfeister
