As I crept quietly down the hall, opening the door ever so slightly seeeking to extinguish the glare of lights left glowing, piercing night; I viewed unexpectedly the evidence of God's gentle touch...a child now grown whose innocence long ago stolen in harsh, untold ways...lay curled in deep slumber...encased in the erratic shadows of lizard light beams glinting from across the room...his large 'paw' gently, protectively, clutching new born, plush very, very soft 'Make a Bear'...

I remembered your birthday this year while sitting at the ocean, saying a prayer and raising a glass toward heaven. I did so with a smile, a tear and much love in my heart. I remembered celebrating your birthday last year and the wonderful time we had going to see "Lion King". I miss you terribly, Eric. I feel your presence every day and know you are at peace.

1st Birthday In Heaven...
I looked toward the clouds today
and for a moment saw your face
and wondered just where you have gone
and i hope it's a better place.
Did you show yourself to me today
to tell me you're alright?
Or was it just a daydream
playing tricks upon my sight?
Then I thought of when you left,
you did not say a word.
We never said good-bye, but
in our hearts, your good-bye was heard.
You have changed our lives...

Happiness was the day of your birth Eric.
"Happy 'Birthing' Day Mom" you said each year.
We celebrate your life and light daily in all things; most especially in your finest gift, your son Alec who is an amazing person.
You and God and Uncle Ronnie do some celebrating up their today.
With a couple of jokesters like you two by His side, The Big Guy'll be falling of His Throne in no time!
You always knocked us off of...
