Not sure what to say?

Chuck & Pris, We are so sorry for the loss of your son. We pray your memories will help you through this time.
You are in our prayers and thoughts.

Oh Big Country, how you made our lives better.

I still remember the day in Iowa in 2001 on the $2 tour with New Society of Anarchists when you got that nickname. For some reason it just stuck. Maybe it was the Bryant Reeves basketball jersey you wore all the time. Who knows. :)

Erik's passing should put the cliché "Only the good die young" front and center in our minds and hearts.

By the way, I have a strong hunch you had something to do with the tornado that...

I JUST LEARNED OF THE TRAGIC LOSS OF ERIK TODAY. I HAVE KNOWN ERIK FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS AND HE WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CARBONDALE PEOPLE! I REMEMBER HE WAS EVEN AT THE HOSPITAL TO VISIT ME WHEN I HAD MY LITTLE BOY(WHOS ALMOST 7 NOW)UNFORTUNATLEY ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD SEEN HIM, BUT I HAVE LOTS OF FOND MEMORIES OF HIM!MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND ALL THE MANY FRIENDS OF HIS. HE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY.

My heart feels empty and devastated. I just recently heard the tragic news and my mind and heart went back many years and memories of Erik flooded me like a hurricane. When I first met Erik while I was a student at SIU, he made quite an impression on me! What was not to love about Erik? His generosity, creativity, smile, faithfulness, and loyalty could be spotted immediately upon meeting him. Erik was easy to talk to, easy to trust, and I must say, just a lot of fun to be around! Even...

Erik was immediately my friend the day I met him in 1993. One of the nicest, most easy-going friends that I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am fortunate enough to have been able to spend more time with him the last few years. My heart goes out to his family and Morgan. I will miss him and cherish his memory and my time with him always.

Chuck & Pris -
There are no words to offer to bring you comfort, I'm sure; please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers. When the time is right for you, may you find peace in knowing Eric is in a much better place; resting with our Holy Father in heaven -
All our love and prayers -

To Chuck & Pris; We were so saddened to hear of Erik's passing. We didn't know he was ill. We were with Laurie, Katy and Jason Saturday evening when we learned of your loss; and they were heartbroken, as were we. May God bless you and your family; and all of Erik's friends. We send our love and condolences. Bill & Margie Held & Families

The world truly lost one of the kindest people around. Carbondale (and Murphy) will not be the same without Erik; we will all miss him ... The Crews family is in my prayers. Stay golden, big country.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for all of you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
