I worked with Erik at Lonza. He had an artist's soul and great depth of feeling. As an artist myself, we usually found ourselves conversing about topics that don't usually come up in casual conversation like beauty, sadness, joy and life's rhythms. I could tell his well of sorrow was deep, but so was his capacity for wonder.
