All of my memories of Erik boil down to him standing with his hands in his pockets and making a colleague laugh, and then laughing with them...

I also worked with Erik in his days at Immunex/Amgen. During that time I gained a great regard for him. He had a kindness that was so rare and so special that it set him apart from others. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him and regard him as a friend. I am deeply saddened that he is now gone from us and feel that we are all poorer in this loss.
