Erika K. Eckstut

I wanted to pay my respects. I am doing a project on Holocaust survivors, and I found Erika so brave and courageous. She is now in God's hands <3

Erika, a Holocaust survivor, ... now resting in God's hands. A longtime prominent volunteer at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. We will truly miss her.

I am so sorry for loss. May you gain much strength and comfort by expressing your deepest emotions in prayer. Know that God cares for you and wants to help you during this difficult time.

Erika - I always called her Mrs. Eckstut - was one of my favorite people in the world since I met her when I was a teenager in St. Louis. My heart goes out to Elise, Michael and all the family.

I was so sorry to read about Erika's passing in this morning's Washington Post. I met Erika thru Bess Murlas and became a friend of hers. She is one of the most memorable people I've ever met and her story of how she came to this country is amazing. Her story is on the U. S. Holocaust Museum site.
