Not sure what to say?

I worked with Shirley Paxman at the McCurdy Historical Doll Museum in the 1980s. Erla graciously allowed us to use her pattern to create some Betsy Button dolls to display when we did a story time and tea party featuring her charmingly illustrated little book on several occasions in July.

My mother used to read "Betsy Buttons" to my siblings and me. It was one of my favorite books. Best wishes to her loved ones and family.

Dear Aunt Erla,

You will be so missed and I know that you gave my Dad, Richard Young, a wonderful couple of months that he will remember always!!! Thank you for the love you gave to him!!

May you rest in peace and in the knowledge that you were and are loved by many and you will always be remembered!!!

My love and prayers to all your kids, my cousins!!

Love in the Gospel,

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Erla. She was such an amazing woman and was a positive influence in my life. I grew up just down the road from her in Midway and enjoyed her loving and kind ways. She was such a positive and generous person...I will always treasure the Betsy Buttons doll she gave me as a child and will pass the stories and doll along to my children when the time comes. She will truly be missed.

We miss you.
