LINCOLN and BANGOR - Erma Dorothy (Thibodeau) Goding, 88, died Jan. 26, 2014, at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by family. She was born July 16, 1925, in Lee, the daughter of Myron and Alice (Knights) Thibodeau. She was a graduate of Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, class of 1941. Erma was a longtime resident of Lincoln and for the past few years, resided in Bangor at Winterberry Heights Assisted Living Facility. She was an avid reader and enjoyed any card game. She always had a knitting or crochet project started, providing many afghans to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends over the years.She is survived by a brother, Stuart Thibodeau and wife, Marjorie, of Lincoln; five children, Jeffrey Goding and his wife, Susan, of Marshfield, Sue Goding, of Lincoln, Bruce Goding and his wife, Sharon, of Baileyville, Dale Goding and his wife, Ursula, of Chester and Marie LaForge and her husband, Paul, of West Enfield; 11 grandchildren, Joshua Goding, of Marshfield, Gretchen Cramb and husband, Patrick, of Duxbury, Mass., Nicholas Goding, of East Machias, Bethany Goding, of Cushing, Sarah Bezanson and husband, Michael, of New Durham, N.H., Jeremy Goding and wife, Keisha, of Summerville, S.C., Julia Bemis and husband, Jeremy, of Hermon, Brittany Goding of Lincoln, Hillary Goding of Chester, Erika Jipson of Hermon, and Ian LaForge of West Enfield; 13 great-grandchildren, Indigo and Mercury Cramb, Kiras and Nichols Tavernakis, Haley and Chase Bezanson, Brooke and Riley Goding, Austin, Josiah, Ava and Abram Bemis, and Caleb McDonough; and special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Goding.Per her wishes, a graveside service will be held in the spring, in Lincoln. I remember the lovely mitten and scarf sets we use to get from Aunt Erma wrapped in the most beautiful paper and bows. We always enjoyed a pleasant conversation of catch-up, when I would accidently dial her phone number and she would let me go on, teasing me, before saying, "you don't know who your talking with do you DEBBIE!"
