I am one of the seven children my sister Cristine spoke of in an earlier condolence. I too remember Lazz being very kind to my father Bob Steffen. Lazz spent quality time and patience instructing my father the skills of carpentry. Occasionally he would stop by our house, and was always kindly and respectful to my mother. Have only good memories of Lazz as a young man. He gave me my 1st job & built my 1st custom home in 1988 in Monroe Ctr, IL. 1 of best memories was my 1st day as a 16 yr old boy in hot summer nailing a plywood floor of a house. He dropped me off at 9 a.m. & came back about noon. As he walked over to me i was sitting on the floor & he asked if i was taking a break.
