Erna Reinhardt Eckert Erna Reinhardt Eckert, age 92, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 15, 2007 in Austin. She was born November 14, 1914, to Emil and Helena Prinz Reinhardt, the fourth of seven children, and was a lifetime resident of Travis County. Erna will always be remembered as a loving, patient, and kind wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Erna had a sweet, endearing spirit and a lovely smile that will be missed by all who knew her. She devoted her life to the loving care and nurturing of her family. She was a wonderful Mother who created a warm, welcoming, and comfortable home. Erna enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a steadfast and inspiring faith in God and placed her trust in Him for His guidance and assurance. Erna was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was christened and confirmed, and on February 8, 1943, married to Clifton Eckert. She later became a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. Erna was preceded in death in 1971 by her husband, Clifton T. Eckert; and by three brothers, Ewald Reinhardt, Herman Reinhardt, and Edwin Reinhardt, and by two sisters, Elfrieda Brydson and Alma Holter. Erna cherished her family and is survived by her devoted daughter, Wanda Sanderson and her husband, Alan, grandson, Craig Sanderson, all of Austin, and by granddaughter, Christy Murray and her husband, Eric, of Cypress, Texas. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Kirkpatrick, Eden, Texas, and by numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express appreciation to Heritage Duval Gardens Nursing and Rehab and to Heart to Heart Hospice for their thoughtful and compassionate care. Memorials may be made to St. Martin's Lutheran Church, 606 West 15th Street, Austin, Texas 78701 or to Salem Lutheran Church, 9322 FM 812, Austin, Texas 78719. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with Rev. R. Craig Sommer of St. Martin's Lutheran Church officiating.
