dear mary, my deepest sympathy for your loss. uncle ernie was my godfather and directly influenced my photographic career. of couse i would not be here if he did not bring my navy dad home with him during the war. uncle ernie introduced my dad to my mom and grandma's cooking. the rest is history.
he was a man with a big heart and a great laugh who loved large. as a kid i remember his visits to boston were filled with fishing trips, lobster dinners, card parties cookouts and lots of...

Things I remember:
Ernie sleeping in our attic on Anthony Street when he returned from the Navy in WW11. I think I was about 4-5 years old.
The endless pictures Ernie took of my brother and myself as kids.
The wonderful house he and Vera built with their own hands.
The first time my son Jon rode a tractor was in Erie's back yard.
The trips to Boston and staying...
