Ernest J. Barlow

Cumberland – Ernest J. Barlow, 99, of Sherwood Lane died Friday, April 4 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Alice B. (Messier) Barlow and the late Anne H. (Clarke) Barlow.

Born in Stratford, England, a son of the late William and Mary (Ganley) Barlow, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 35 years.

Mr. Barlow was an engineer for Hasbro, Inc. in Central Falls and Pawtucket for many years, retiring in 1972.

He attended MIT and Fordham University.

He was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lillian J. Crawley of Pascoag; a son, Wilfred G. Barlow of Arley, Alabama; 2 sisters, Celia Reveil of Warwick and Helen Beaupre of Providence; 2 brothers, Lawrence Barlow in New Hampshire and James Barlow of Cranston; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Francis Barlow.

The funeral will be held Monday, April 7 at 10 A.M. from the Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Eucharistic Service at 11 A.M. in Christ Church, 1643 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
