Not sure what to say?

I knew Ernie as a friend and fellow BS'er. We had many wonderful conversations about all sorts of subjects, and I always admired his dedication, knowledge, energy, and infectious spirit. I was sorry to see he had passed away last fall, and will miss him. I hope he's enjoying the music somewhere else right now!

I recall with gracious gratitude, Ernie's many dedicated years of service as a business volunteer for CRESCENDO, the Oregon Symphony's dedicated volunteer support group, which I managed from the late 80's onwards. He will be missed!

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to meet and get to know Ernie! He did have a "twinkle in his eye," and his passion for our community and the cultural landscape of the region was infectious. May his memory be a blessing!

Yes, the twinkle in his eye and the always pulled togetherness of a great spirit. I first met Ernie in the mid 2000s to discuss efforts to preserve the legacy of his grandfather, the composer, Ernest Bloch. Thankfully, Ernie was present on July 21, 2018 when the culmination of the dedication of the Ernest Bloch Memorial Wayside took place. Providentially, the event proved to serve as a Bloch family reunion. Ernest Bloch Place within the Ernest Bloch Memorial Wayside owes much to the efforts...

I'd first met Ernie when he was working at Pacificorp, in the 80s, and then met up with him again thru the Portland Chamber Orchestra and a few other events. He was one of the most delightful men I've ever know. What a joy it was to have occasional contact with him thru our shared friends and interests. One of the last times I saw him was at my sister-in-laws birthday party. I was fortunate to get to sit beside Ernie at the dinner. He and I shared a lively conversation, and those around us...

Jody and I were classmates at Riverdale School, united by our fathers' passion for fly-fishing and being two of the three families of Democrats in Dunthorpe. His delightful presence will be deeply missed!

Just now learning of Ernie's passing, so sending my wishes and condolences to his family. I spent many a breakfast with Ernie back a decade or so ago where we would exchange ideas and visions for ways to strengthen our community. I remember Ernie as selflessly giving of his time and thoughts.

I also knew Ernie from his years at PacifiCorp. I remember his smiling face and interesting stories -- and that he was always in a positive, up-beat (pun intended) mood. RIP Ernie. Condolences to Ernie's family.

Condolences to the Bloch family for your loss. May God grant you peace at this difficult time. Jeremiah 29:11-12
