I took care of Louada, and then Ernie for a short while when living in eureka and working for Frye's. I still think fondly of them both. Louada was such an intelligent and humorous person. Her snow white hair was envied, as it was absolutely gorgeous. Such a character! Ernie was so kind and equally amusing. Memory like no other! He would tell me lots of stories about his life. I made it a point to come and see him as much as I possibly could while on shift just to listen to him. I always told...

Time has flown by since Ernie's passing, but my memories of him will never be far from my mind. He was a wonderful roll model who was always kind to me, mentoring me into adulthood. I had so much respect for him and love. I had the pleasure of going to school with Steve, and when it came to Steve, it was very clear: that apple did not fall from his father's tree. Much respect and love.

Ernie, I think of you so often, especially when I drive by your old, beautiful house. I miss you, but I hope you and Luada are camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, and having a blast. Until we meet again, my friend.

Ernest Cobine was my favorite teacher in high school. I had him for Civics. He taught me more than just civics, he taught me to be brave. One thing I dispized most was to get up in front of the class and make a report. He taught me to have self respect and courage. When I got my report card at the end of the year, I had a "B" in his class. Mr. Cobine you will be greatly missed. Thank you for all you taught me! R.I.P.

Where do I start? I was transferred to EHS in March 1970 from Winship Jr. High and met all the staff at that time...I was secretary to the principal, Haven Howatt....Ernie was so pleasant and joked a lot in the office and I asked him if he seemed "at home" there..I told him he must have visited the principal's office many times! Yes, many years were spent in the attic at Ernie's and Louada's home...especially after the football games.....such fun and such great friends they were. And I...
