CONSTANTINE, Ernest "Pop", devoted husband and father, fell asleep in the Lord February 13, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rita Constantine; his son, The Very Reverend John E. Constantine of California; his daughter, Frances Krushelnisky and her husband, Kenny; his son, Paul Constantine and his wife, Donna; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Nick, Peter, Jennifer, Tori, and Michelle; sister, Mary Trahadias; and his devoted friend, Ray Gorman. Ernie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member the Hellenic Masonic Lodge #249. He worked hard all of his life to provide a home of love and security. He retired from DMV in 2002 after 47 years of service. He befriended all of those he had contact with and had a good sense of humor. Pop was a man of simple means and lived a life rich in love and integrity. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and will always live on in our hearts. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund, 30 Malvern Ave., Richmond, Va. 23221.
This obituary was originally published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
