Not sure what to say?

I was just sitting in my truck at the shop after the men had gone home thinking of how others had shown me to have strength to go on in times like this and displaying true leadership. I was thinking of what Ernie would do in times like these as I remembered what we shared during 9/11.
Keeping him in my thoughts has given me the strength to be able to keep doing what others might find impossible .
He has been in my thoughts more and I miss him and my leadership mentor.

The Anniversary of Ernie's death reopens all the sad feelings I had when i learned of his death. THE FIRST DAY day I met my husband Jeff while in college in DC., we were surprised that we both knew Ernie who had moved a small house in Riverhead for his family that eventually became our summer home to this day. I think of him often & remember how very special he was and how our family loved him. Rest in peace Ernie.

I have only just read about Ernie's death. How terribly sad and shocking. My entire family loved Ernie - myself since a young child growing up in Bayport.
We were related by marriage & I was a regular babysitter. "always " thrilled by the 5-minute ride home on the back of his Motorcycle) ! I feel so sorry for his family and want them to know he is in my thoughts.

we send loving sympathy for the family of ernie davis. he was a gentle kind man, we knew him both professionally and personally. our last time together was at the canal cafe in hampton bays where we shared a meal and some fine conversation. please accept our deep sympathies. nomi and dick solo

Ernie was a fine fellow and intelligent, hard worker who took pride in his unique talents on behalf of customers. We held him in high esteem and great respect. He was a good, contributing member of Sayville Yacht Club. We enjoyed his company many times. Our condolences to his family as we remember him in our prayers.

I first met Ernie as a young boy when he raised a home for my father, a builder, and continued to see him when he raised my wife's home and I did some carpentry for him. A consummate gentleman and honest business man who lived for his family and friends. Ernie and his values will be greatly missed.

I knew Ernie as a gentleman, likable wonderful man. I am saddened by his death. He was such a likable guy.

Our sincere sympathy to the Davis family. No words can express how sorry and sad we are. Ernie was a kind, gentle and truly special person. We are blessed to have had his friendship and the pleasant memories. He will always have a place in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Ann Marie and John DeNicholas

Maris and I want to extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family at this tragic loss
