Ernest Edmond Rogers

Ernest Edmond Rogers was born on August 9th, 1970 to the late Ernest and Ura B. Rogers of New York City. He was born and raised in New York City, and later moved to Teaneck, New Jersey in 1976, and graduated from Hackensack High School 1988. Upon graduation, Ernest then enrolled into Bergen Community College were he studied Theater Arts and Acting, and later enrolled in Howard University where he studied Theatre.

            Ernest was an avid actor and a member of SAG-AFTRA. His passion for acting was expressed through his unwavering dedication and perseverance. Ernest was also the owner of E Rogers Garage Door Co. As a young man he learned the trade of the garage door business from his father, the late Ernest Rogers.

            Ernest was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey, and later joined Community Baptist Church of Englewood, New Jersey where he became a member and recently completed the right hand of fellowship.

Ernest met the love of his life, the late Minnie Banta Rogers, in 1988. Ernest and Minnie were united in holy matrimony in the late fall of 2000. To this union three children were born; Jelani Asia Rogers, Jhari Alexander Rogers and Jalen Amaya Rogers. Ernest was an avid actor, lover of tropical weather and fish, and an enthusiastic fan of music, dancing, and his love for the arts.

He leaves to cherish his loving spirit and memory, two daughters Jelani and Jalen Rogers, his one son Jhari Alexander Rogers, sisters Cheryl B. Rogers, Brenda Rogers-Smith and Susan Thompson, his niece Mrs. Alicia Marie Boone (Stuart Boone), nephews Gary Smith and Brandon Smith, great nieces Tessaiya Loo Boone, Ayannah Smith, Faith Smith, Gianni Smith and London Blue Boone, great nephews Gary Smith Jr., and and Bryce Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
