Dennis Funeral Home - New Orleans Obituary

With God there is no such thing as the impossible, because with him ALL things are possible.

Ernest "Ernie" J. Jarreau was born on November 20, 1993 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Katrina Jarreau Gaines and Jernard Lewis. Ernest passed away on December 4, 2023 at 10:35pm at University Medical Center. Ernest earned his studies in the New Orleans Public School District attending McDonough 35 Senior High School and later on earned his GED certificate. "Ernie" as he was affectionately called was a loving, caring, energetic and gregarious son, father, brother and friend. He loved music, fashion and most of all HIS family. Ernie's smile would light up any room he entered. He was very unselfish and would give you his last of anything. Ernie was definitely a "momma's boy", always on her heels everyday all day. If wasn't by her side he was calling her phone. But not only that Ernest GREATEST ACCOMPLSIHMENT was becoming a "Girl Dad" to his beautiful daughter Little MIss Emerii Dallas Jarreau.

Ernest "Ernie" is survived by his mother Katrina J. (Alfred) Gaines, his father Jernard (Heather) Lewis; his beautiful daughter Emerii Dallas Jarreau; grandparents ernest & Adrian Jarreau, Joseph Lewis and Joyce Edwards, three (3) brothers Jernard Jarreau, Aaron and Ahmad Gaines, one (1) sister Asia Gaines, two (2) nieces Drue Aubert and Aubrie Jarreau; six (6) devoted aunts Tonia Edwards, Erica Jarreau, Lubrina (Steve) Hudson, Monique (Dwayne) Davis, Ashley (Flex) Hosley, and Nicole Couisizan. He is also survived by his devoted best friend tyron Harden, and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Not sure what to say?

Heartfelt prayers and sympathy to all the family and friends. May all find comfort during this time of sorrow.

Gone but never forget I going really miss you call my phone ever week ask me how I doing and what up with my Papa

Working with some members of the family, they would talk about him often. I know he is deeply missed and want to offer my condolences to all those who loved him.

Ernie! Wow! What can I say? I can’t believe you have transitioned. I was so excited to see you on the saints trip and I am so glad that we were able to hug and talk a little to catch up! I will cherish that time always! You had a good heart and a loving spirit. You will be missed. God only knows!
