Not sure what to say?

Like many of us he was addicted to the game of ball. Only spent a few years knowing him during his final umpiring days. We enjoyed each others company telling baseball tales, of glory and defeat. A gentle spirit that will remain with me forever. I'm hoping that you're calling nothhing but perfect games in God's 'league of his own.'
My deepest sympathy to Barbara and the entire Golding family.

We just saw Ernie a few weeks ago on his three wheeler. Barbara and family, Ernie will be sorely missed by so many people. We really loved him! RIP Ernie. May his memory be a blessing! We think about you often and will miss you and the jokes you sent. A wonderful, sweet human being! So much love, Syl and Ron Banks! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

We met just the once, but never forgotten. The loveliest cousin to have found. With loving thoughts to all the family. Gill

It's extremely difficult to say goodbye to a close friend you've known your entire life. If you look up "nice guy" in the dictionary, you'll see Ernie's picture. Always a giver, never out of line - the perfect umpire. "Mr. Bob Ostrow" was a wise man who lead by example. At one of our regular crack-of-dawn golf outings at Sharp Park with my dad (Art Dikas) and Tom Teshara, Ern hit a drive sideways between his legs, clanging off of an empty garbage can...a "gong" if you will...we were...

My deepest thoughts and prayers to Barbara, John, Jim Lois and their families! I feel truly blessed to have known such a loving, caring and thoughtful man! I will treasure all of the childhood memories that were created with the Golding family and how welcoming you all were, to this little Gaygoo from down the street. Sending you all my love.

Ernie you will be missed, one thing you always said, if your having a bad day smile and it will make it all better. Thank you for being a great mentor in life,
Sincerely your neighbor Tyler

Sad to hear about the passing of Ernie. I had the pleasure of umpiring manny game with him; a lot of times he would come with his dog and care for it in between innings! A highlight was the annual umpire dinners where I always had pleasant chats with him and Barbara. Always a fun, pleasurable, and nice man. God Bless you Ernie...I'm sure he'll be working a game upstairs where they never argue the calls.

Dearest Ernie and Your Loving Family, So sad to lose you to Heaven! You always made me feel like being with my Beloved Dad, Joe Delfino, Fellow Baseball Player, Pieretti Member, and Oldtimer's Baseball Association. You are the Best! Your Positive, Fun-loving Spirit which warmed all who knew you will love on! We are were blessed to know and love you! God Bless you. Until we meet again I knkw you are playing baseball in that Field in the Heavens! Prayers to your Loved Ones!

So very sorry to hear about Ernie. He was a great man and I always enjoyed seeing him at the Pieretti dinners. I know he's having a great reunion with my Dad, Dante, and Frank right now. Condolences from the entire Tobener family.
