Not sure what to say?

Mr. Horacek was principal of NPHS during my time there. He and his wife played bridge with my parents and I was always amazed that he was so friendly when at our home even though we might have had a run-in or problem in school that very day. He was a very nice man.

Mr. Horacek was the principal of North Platte High School in 1956 when we graduated from there. He was a very young, pleasant, likeable man. He remained very enjoyable, pleasant, likeable when we met up with Ernie and wife, Virginia, many years later.

My parents took me to the Horacek's in Gering several times. I was in grade school. I thought his wife Bernice made the best spaghetti in the world. Over the years Ernie stayed in touch with my parents until they both passed. I remember him as a kind and spirited guy who was always great to me, was a good friend to my parents, and who enjoyed life and people. My condolences to the family, and my wishes for a fine trip for Ernie into whatever comes next in this journey we are all on.

I taught at Westbrook all the years Ernie was principal there. He was a good friend and mentor and I learned much during those years. Hard to believe he was 94. My sincere condolences to his family.

I knew "Mr Horacek" at Westbrook Jr. High. When he was the principal there. A good guy. Wow 94! Turns out he knew several of my uncles from Iowa.

And a WWII vet. Thank you for your service to this country, and many years of service as a leader in education.

I still have my good attendance award from him.

My condolences to Ernie's family. Can't believe he was 94 years old. I enjoyed knowing and working with him in Omaha at Westside Community Schools. Ron Huston
