In remenberence

I just discovered this web page and learned of Sonny's passing. Even though over a year has passed, I wish to send my condolences to the family. I was 9 years old when I first became a race fan at Beltsville Speedway, and I can still remember clearly sitting at the top of the grandstands watching pre-race practice and wondering which of the "Richmond boys" were gonna show up for the big races. Whenever I saw that powder blue Zervakis 01 roll through the parking lot I knew my local...

About a year ago, I made diecast models of the 01 and Flying 11 Chevelles. At the time I made these, I knew Ray had died but not Sonny. Now I'm sad to find a year later that Sonny has passed. Sonny and Ray raced at Beltsville Speedway in Maryland. Always exciting and never boring...may Sonny and Ray RIP

Sorry to hear, I just found out today of Sonny's passing. HE was a great guy and a great racer. I raced with him many times in the early 60's. Southside speedway South
Boston and others, once again sorry to hear.

im truly sorry for your loss.my parents used to take me to sss when i was little every friday nite.my dad is now 80 and we was just talking about sonny.my mom is in heaven with him and probably cheering him on.may god be with you
and wrap his arms around you.

Sonny, Piggie is with you now and I know the 2 of you are making plans, your heads were together alot in the later years, now you mike as well
I miss all of you,

May God bless the family and friends of Sonny Hutchins. I knew him from the 60's and the modified ford #90. Ray, Runt,Sonny, gone on now, Ted is still with us, the 4-H boys, they were the best, we had some awfull good times then.

I just wanted to say how much my family enjoyed watching Sonny race. We couldn't wait for Friday nights at SSS. My dad ran the wreckers (Broad Rock Towing) at Southside for years and he use to greet Sonny at the flag stand after he won a race and hand him an ice cold can of Coke. I saw Sonny not long ago and he remembered my Dad doing that. We truly loved Sonny and sorry to hear that he is gone. I am sure my Dad met him at the finish line one last time with an ice cold Coca Cola.

I live in DC now but remember Sonny well and his booming presence when he would visit Piggy's Attache.
