Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Ernest. We never met. I was given his name on a slip of paper as a 'name to remember' at a candle light vigil in 2001. Every year on 9/11 he's in my thoughts. It's great reading what others say about him to get at least a small picture of who he was. Rest well, see you next year.

I commemorate the passing of Ernest James today. It is just sad how his life got cut short.

EJ, I had to leave my words, you made me laugh HARD, you dressed well, and you were your own person. I just found out 9 years later. And well you stay in my memory and heart.

In memory....

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Ernest was an old friend of mine from way back. He was funny, and he never failed to make us all laugh. He once told a joke (in 1980) which was so hilarious, that until this day (2002) I cannot recall what it was. In our day, we called it"snapping", but Ernest did it with respect, and no one was hurt. I will miss you my friend, but the good times we all had will not be forgotten! Rest Well Time, Rest Well.

DEAR GOD SHINE YOUR LIGHT ON THIS YOUNG MAN ERNEST JAMES AND MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE WITH GOD AND HIS ANGELS..GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND MAY THEY STAY CLOSE AND NEVER FORGET 9/11/01..GOD BLESS AMERICA AND NEW YORK..MAY GOD AND ST.JAMES GREET YOU AT THE GATES OF HEAVEN...AMEN

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow....
