Ernest Lopes, 88, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, a Calender Mill Man for Goodyear Tire & Rubber before he retired in 1973, died in New Bedford on Wednesday, July 26, 2000. Visiting hours are scheduled for Friday, July 28, 2000, at Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, Inc., 129 Allen Street, New Bedford. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 29, 8 a.m., from the funeral home to St. John The Baptist Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery.
