I WAS A FRIEND OF ERNIES OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS. HIS GREAT WIT, CHARM AND VIBRANT PERSONALITY WAS A GIFT TO EVERYONE HE TOUCHED. HIS GENEROSITY WAS ONLY EXCEEDED---BY HIS LUST FOR LIFE. I THINK ERNIE LIVED EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY WITH ENTHUSIASM AND LOVE. MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCES AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY.

My few personal encounters with Ernie always had me smiling. His quick wit on the phone would have me laughing as well as his patience explanation of "basis points". Ernie Lucia was graced with a kind and sweet nature, a great sense of humor and irony, a vibrant love for life and total devotion to his wife, Alice, children Michael and Kristina and close relatives and friends.
