Not sure what to say?

I have gone to the nursery for over 50 years, and was surprised to see the closed sign due to medical issues. I wondered what had happened, and was hoping to get the usual greeting of spring by seeing the old familiar faces. Now that Mr. Marbott the elder is gone, it wont be the same, but hopefully just different as we have to say due the all the changes we encounter in the world. The nursery and its tender caring owerns are so appreciated for making Portland a better place. Wishing all...

Thinking of you, Ernie, during poinsettia season. What a bar you set for the perfect plant! Hopefully you're seeing a world of poinsettias. We're seeing lots of requests for pink after the Barbie movie this year!

This photo is a great reflection of the generous, plant-loving excellent grower Ernie was. We miss his presence, but his high bar keeps us pursuing best practices for highest quality. Hope you're having a blast, Ernie!

My husband and I moved to Piedmont neighborhood in 1986 and quickly discovered Marbott's. Shopping in every season for 40 years. Ernie set me straight on a number of plantings and was always a welcome face in the greenhouses. Regards, Sarah Enroth

My greatest sympathies to Connie and Family. My father and mother Harold and Rita Heer were friends with Ernie and Connie. I remember going to their house and having the best time. They had a pool that we loved swimming in. All I remember is that they were good, fun, happy people. God be with you all. If anyone wants to contact [email protected] I am currently living in Lincoln City OR

We have lost a truly unique person and grower for the world. Deep sympathies to Connie, Larry, Lynda, Leslie and family. Cheers to you Ernie for the high bar you set in growing and customer education! Happy trails to you and your legacy.

I have the pleasure of selling soils to Marbott's and Ernie was (and will always be) a special memory for me. Just like the customers have shared about him not letting them buy plants, I have similar experiences on the sales side of the ledger. He was never short for sharing his thoughts on when orders should be arriving. I loved getting a call from Ernie when he was ready to place an order. And I always loved my visits with him at the garden center. He help to be a bridge to a...

He was a wealth of knowledge and never hesitated to tell me when I was not. He will be missed by me and those who grow in Oregon!

I was very sad to hear the Mr Marbott had passed and will think of him every time we visit the nursery.
