Not sure what to say?

I can only add to what Lee has said. A wonderful southern gentleman. Sandy Clark

Ernie was a great guy to work with because of his inquisitive mind and pleasant manner. I always enjoyed his visits to our A&A Washington office. He was blessed with a long life and a loving family. Dr. Robert Moore

Dear Ann and Merklein clan,

I'm only sorry that I didn't know Ernest better. He sounds like such a wonderful man. Blessings to all of you as you celebrate and reflect on his life.

Grace and peace.

Ernest was a true gentleman in the greatest sense of the term. He was a very good insurance man who was a leader at Alexander & Alexander, especially in the field of environmental issues. I loved working with Ernie on so many projects. Ann and the family have my sympathy.

Dear Ann and family

I first met Ernest in connection with his providing insurance, and our friendship grew through his involvement in the Catholic church and particularly in sharing the writings of Thomas Merton. He will be remembered as a caring and active person always seeking to do good! Louis Lowrey

I worked with Mr. Merklein at Alexander & Alexander. He was always very kind to me at a very young age in what would be the beginning of my professional career. I will forever be grateful for his inspiration. To the family, I am very sorry for your loss and may the Lord be with you.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire Merklein family, all of whom helped shape my childhood and make it a very happy one. Mr. Merklein made every activity a learning experience. He taught us all to love and appreciate nature. He had a profound influence on my youth and was without a doubt one the most positive influences I ever had. I know he will be greatly missed.

Our thoghts and prayers are with you at this time.
