Ernest Mitchell, 64, of Springfield, died Monday February 27, 2012 at VA Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the South Haven Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens with full honors. Pallbearers will be Ed Lemley, Henry Vozka, Mark McLane, Elizabeth Leonard, JoAnn Gregory, Danny Johnson, Jimmy Grogan, and Ricki Heatherly. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the South Haven Baptist Church. Mr. Mitchell was born December 25, 1947 in Ft. Jackson, S.C. to the late Hilton and Emma Jean McGeorge Mitchell. He served in the U.S. Army, during Vietnam. Mr. Mitchell was a retired Corporal from the Springfield Police Department. He was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife: Cindy Burgess Mitchell of Springfield, sons: Dewayne Mitchell of South Carolina, Steven Mitchell and Dustin Mitchell both of Springfield, daughters: Angie Mitchell of South Carolina, Michelle Henley of Springfield, brother: Chuckie Stade of Greenbay, Wis., sisters: JoAnn Keller of Springfield, Mary Paige of Springfield, and Jeannie Mitchell of Alabama, ten grandchildren
