Not sure what to say?

We had the great honour of meeting and sharing a transatlantic voyage with Ernie - sharing many wonderful conversations over dinner. Ernie was visiting his friend Alex and hoped to see some of the UK so we of course invited him to stay with us. We live in Birkdale near the famous Royal Birkdale golf course and had spoken at length about golf. Oh dear!! I am so sorry to hear about Ernie's passing! He was a wonderful friend to my parents and to me. And so much fun! He did so many things in his life that most of us never even thought of doing. And he carried all this knowledge and expertise so lightly and with such warmth and generosity! He was a true gentleman. I'll miss you Ernie!

So sorry to hear this news! I am a neighbor and have missed my morning greetings with Ernie and Rambo! He would always call me 'dearie' and give me a big hug..I have been wondering if he was alright..I will miss him and his wonderful smile..makes me sad! My condolences to all of his children and family..prayers and hugs! God be with each of you..

Our dear friend of such great intelligence, compassion, humor with his love of life, friends and family will be remembered always. We shared fun golf, many martinis, and hours of stimulating conversation. I'm glad you'll be joining Owen and many other friends to share a toast together again. We, left behind will miss you.

I was lucky to meet Monty (Ernie) in Panamá! He was an amazing gentleman and the sweetest man I ever met! He enjoyed his life and gave a lot of love and understanding to people around him!
He will be missed however He is going to be with us in our heart and our memories!
My deepest condolences to his family!
